132 days to go....

Maybe a few more, but pretty close to that!  We bought a house, in Okotoks, and possession is July 6th, so we will be back before that.  That was a little bit of a process in and of itself.  Todd viewed the house while he was back in January, we had both looked at online pictures of it before that, and Todd took more while he was there.  Paper work was signed, scanned, and emailed back and forth, with the time difference of eight hours.  We have picked blinds and appliances from a website.  And, the boys and I will move into a house we have never set foot into when we return in July.  Our "forever" home!!!  Hope we like it!!!!
We debated about building our own home when we returned to Okotoks, but then we would have been looking at renting for another year.  We also thought maybe we would return and then look for something to buy, but again, where do you live when you get back??  The boys really wanted to get into a house, and get settled.  They have moved a lot for being so young....  So, I think this "spec" house will be perfect for us.  It has 4 bedrooms, on a quiet culdesac, with a playground just around the corner, and some nice bike paths for the kids to ride on.
We have already started to make plans for our summer.  Weekends with family, day camps, week camps, etc.  It feels good to know we will be "home" soon.

So far, this year has been good.  It was a bit of a rough start for me, the first 4 months, but since Christmas, things are much better.  I think having Todd around full time helps, we have gotten out and visited France, and I think, because we are just that much closer to coming back....

Anyways, here are a few photos from the last few weeks!

  1. Well, I for one am looking forward to having you guys back. It's been fun reading your blog about your adventures, but I'd much rather hear it first hand from your POV as well as the boys POV.

  2. I love your pictures, Jackie. Your travels are an inspiration. Good job practicing French! I hope you have a wonderful rest of your time in France. Once in a lifetime, perhaps and I'm sure you will look back on it so fondly.
Love you you all from us!
